WORK DAYS: Variable; Monday-FridayWORK HOURS: Variable; 0800-1630 (40)Unscheduled means on-call basis and not benefits eligible. Unscheduled employees are required to work at least two shifts per month, however, Salem Hospital cannot assure a set schedule or hours per week. The Mammographer participates in various assigned tasks related to Imaging Technology including but not limited to: routine and biopsy/special procedure examinations - assisting physicians with breast localizations and administering opaque media procedures. Receives and prepares patients; assists, instructs and monitors patient during exam. Takes and develops films, prepares for Radiologist review. Assists Radiologist with breast needle localizations and stereotactic core biopsies; sets-up sterile trays, prepares patient, does post surgical specimen films. Checks images for quality and documents relevant information. Maintains supplies and performs minor maintenance. Working Conditions: Must be able to safely lift up to 50 pounds unaided using proper body mechanics and pass a physical capacities evaluation. Must have near visual acuity, accommodation and depth perception for setting up equipment. Must have good manual dexterity to adjust machine controls and arrange, attach and adjust support devices. Job requirements: Must be registered with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (A.R.R.T.) in both Radiolgy ( R) and Mammography (M). However, will consider applicants who are, or will be eligible to take the Mammography registry within 6 months from date of hire. Must have a minimum of six (6) months mammogrophy experience; good interpersonal communications skills; appropriate manner, conduct and grooming. Must have the ability to hold in confidence any information about patients, personnel or other information of a confidential nature. Additional Information:This position is designated as Ten-Hour Shifts. Statutory overtime is paid for work beyond 40 hours in a week.
