MRI Tech Aide

63-08 MRI Tech Aide JobID:  63-08 Category:  Radiology Position Type:  Part Time (24hr) Schedule:  varies Position Details Position Summary: Assists the technologist preparing patient for exams. Assists in transporting patients by wheelchair or gurney to and from the MRI Department. Participates in QI activities. Prepares patient film file jacket for final reading according to guidelines. General Responsibilities: Prepares patients for their exams. Files medical reports and related material. Maintains daily patient schedule, updates as necessary, reprinting, informing technologist of changes. Assists in locating patient files, preparing file and putting file to be read following set guidelines. Assists Imaging Services personnel by performing a variety of duties for patients, including assisting transferring patient to and from MRI table. Assists in transportation of patient to and from the MRI department. Helps maintain the equipment and assists in cleaning the department, except for those duties pertaining directly to the Environmental Services personnel. Stocks and cleans scanner room and dressing areas daily and as needed. Replenishes film supplies as needed. Notifies appropriate personnel of shortages of supplies. Utilizes the Meditech system to accurately make changes to exams ordered, canceling exams as requested from technologist, printing reports and schedules as needed. Requirements: • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. • Computer literacy is essential. • Should be skilled in the proper handling of patients and thoroughly knowledgeable in moving and transporting patients.
