Lutheran Medical Center is a state-of-the-art, nationally recognized health system comprised of a 476-bed teaching hospital, multi-site ambulatory care network, Level I Trauma Center, NYS Certified Stroke Center, and strong academic affiliation to SUNY Health Science Center at Brooklyn.MEDICAL LIBRARY DIRECTORFull Time • Day ShiftIn this leadership role, you will plan, organize and direct all day-to-day activities for our medical library, including the maintenance of library website, and the management/supervision of staff.Other specific responsibilities include:writing and submitting grant proposalsmanaging budgets and collection developmentpreparing written documentation in accordance with applicable administrative, regulatory, and residency review committeesdealing directly with subscription vendors/publishers to establish and maintain arrangements for serials and booksproviding orientations for new residents and medical studentspreparing literature searches for library patronspreparing work schedules and evaluating performanceproviding original cataloging of library materialsensuring compliance with all policies/procedureshandling other related functions as necessaryTo qualify, you must have a Master’s Degree in Library Sciences, 3-5 years of medical library management experience, familiarity with postgraduate residency training programs, and expertise with web-based electronic libraries. Excellent oral/written communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, organizational and PC skills will also be expected, as will the ability to complete goals and assigned projects in a timely, efficient manner. Experience with library website maintenance, and Bilingual English/Spanish, Arabic, Chinese or Russian are preferred.We offer a competitive salary, dynamic work environment, and a comprehensive benefits package.
