Program Overview:
CHL's School Based Support Services is comprised of a dedicated team of psychologists, master's level social workers and mental health counselors who develop individualized strategies for at-risk children and adolescents who are experiencing emotional and behavioral issues in order to help them succeed in school environments.
The program provides the following services: individual counseling for students at school sites; consultations to school personnel and families; referrals to psychiatrists as needed; parent-child and student - educator interventions; training workshops for school personnel, parents and caregivers; and ongoing support and referral services to support groups, appropriate services and Family Resources Libraries located in Worcester and Leominster.
The program works with more than 50 public and private schools in twelve different school districts located in central Massachusetts.
CHL's DVERT (Domestic Violence Intervention Team) provides outpatient clinical services to children, adolescents and adults who have experienced domestic violence and/or been diagnosed with a trauma disorder. The program provides services for individuals living in Worcester and the north central region of the state. The program addresses domestic violence by providing therapeutic services, including diagnostic evaluations; clinical and case management; and support services. In addition, program staff conducts workshops and educational programs and consult with various community programs and agencies about the issues of trauma and domestic violence.
Job Responsibilities:
FT (37.5 hrs/wk) Licensed Clinician to:
(22.5 hrs/wk school based work; 15 hrs/wk DVIRT work) Manage a caseload in North County schools.Manage cases referred by DSS of families with domestic violence issues.Attend required client meetings.Attend all required program meetings at Lipton Center in Leominster.Complete required client paperwork for CHL.Follow CHL procedures and protocols.
Qualifications:Master's degree in social work, counseling or related field required. Clinical license - LCSW, LMHC or LICSW - preferred.Minimum of five (5) years experience in clinical and/or school setting working with children, adolescents and families with severe behavioral, social and emotional difficulties.Proven ability to effectively engage clients, successfully advocate for clients and to work well with other professionals. Demonstrated strong communication skills.Must be able to use a computer based information system.Must have valid MA driver's license and registered, insured automobile for work.
