Position Description:

Lead Epic analyst - This position will Lead support of The EPIC Ambulatory Clinical System. The primary focus will be the implementation of the EpicCare Ambulatory System in the Specialty Care Centers. OverviewOversees design, build and validation of EpicCare implementations at Specialty Sites. Administers, facilitates and schedules design, build and validate activities. Acts as Subject Matter Expert for EpicCare product. Interacts with clients in obtaining requirements and insuring user acceptance. Key contact for clients and other IT resources for EpicCare issues. Assigns and monitors implementation activities to analyst and senior analyst. Instructs and mentors analyst and senior analysts. Performs or supervises review, quality control and change management activities. Primary resource for performance of high risk and complex design and configuration. Provides support to operational EpicCare installations. Leads product maintenance and downtime response. The lead systems analyst leads and/or participates in all phases of the systems life cycle. The lead systems analyst devises and designs computer system requirements for solutions of business problems. S/he formulates procedures for their solutions. The lead systems analyst plays a major role in the development and implementation of maintenance and/or enhancements as well as new systems. The systems analyst is challenged with designing appropriate application systems structures, which will provide a solid foundation for well-written and reliable application programs.Other Responsibilities· Facilitate the use of technology by the end-user and to insure that the software system is performing at its highest performance level.· Designs and documents application changes and new features or defects in application area assigned.· Prioritizes, reviews and responds to user requests and participates in user meetings. Recommends application improvements.· Trains less experienced personnel on application.· May provide application support to other teams. Tests and develops test plans according to standards. Completes necessary internal reporting and reports status to management. Completes any other applicable requests from management.· must be able to interact with physicians, business managers and site staff to understand their operational requirements· Work with information system staff/internal & external (vendor) resources to install application updates and trouble shoot problems· Will define and formulate system scope and objectives based on end user needs· Will create and modify process procedures to ensure system integrity· Will prepare detail program specifications for any modifications needed to the system. Analyze and correct system logic concerns· will support the completion of building the master files, category lists, SmartForms, SmartText and configuring workflows, work queues and system settings.· Assist training staff to create appropriate end-user and intradepartmental training materials and documentation· will need to travel to Ambulatory practice locations to perform meetings, conduct workflow analysis and provide on-site support for the implementation.· Carry pager and perform on-call support as needed to end users

Qualifications:

** May be required to travel to Madison, WI to attend classes and gain additional EpicCare certification.***Minimum Educational Requirements:BS or BA Degree in IS, healthcare or related business field preferred.Minimum Experience Requirements:Six (6) or more years of clinical systems analyst experience. One (1) to two (2) years EpicCare Ambulatory experience. EpicCare Certification required. Other EpicCare certifications desired including Install, Cache or Clarity. Working knowledge of ambulatory primary care and specialty care business processes.Candidate must have demonstrated leadership skills and ability to motivate teams. Must possess good verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated knowledge of the Systems Development Life Cycle. Ability to develop logical constructs. Knowledge of Microsoft Office products is necessary. Customer service skills/experience is required. Good problem solving skills. Training and presentation skills. Demonstrated project management experience. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Understanding of testing and quality control. Ability to create and run unit and user acceptance test plans. Knowledge of third party software and database applications. Analytical skills. Knowledge of product design standards. Knowledge of healthcare applications, trends and industry standards
