Lab Section Supervisor
Job Description: Under general management, supervises the daily operations of a sub-group or specific shift(s) of a larger laboratory to assure the delivery of the highest quality of chemical, microscopic and bacteriologic testing. Directs work flow, resolves technical problems and ensures laboratory operations conform to established standards. Ensures the accurate and timely reporting of clinically useful results. Reports to a Regional Lab Manager.
Education: Bachelor's degree. Must be a certified Medical Technologist (ASCP-MT). Must hold an active license in Massachusetts. Must meet Massachusetts Dept. of Public Health qualifications for laboratory supervisor.
Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years experience as medical technologist with at least 1 year of supervisory experience in a laboratory environment. Demonstrated organizational, leadership, and teamwork skills. Must be proficient with Excel & Word and have general experience working with LIS products. Must be able to multi-task. Must have effective written and verbal communication skills.
