Interim Director Med-Surg / Medical Surgical / San Francisco Bay Area

Description:  This highly respected hospital facility serves the health care needs of residents in the San Francisco Bay Area. The facility features many centers of excellence including orthopedics, rehabilitation, women's health, skilled nursing, adult psychiatry, cancer care, and more. Facility is fully accredited by JCAHO.   The hospital is looking for an Interim Director of Med-Surg. The interim position will last until a permanent candidate is in place with a minimum 13 week guarantee. A contract to perm opportunity is available. Position offers a competitive salary, corporate housing (or housing stipend), travel, and more.   The ideal candidate will possess several years of industry experience with a proven track record of strong team management, ability to develop and/or review procedures essential to the achievement of objectives, and the ability to make recommendations to Senior Management. The Director will hire and manage department personnel while ensuring the strategic plan for the unit is implemented through the daily operational plan. They will also serve as the tactical point person as it relates to patient care, staff development, physician relationships, quality initiatives, program development, and system-wide success. Studer group training is a plus. Director will report to CNO.  Requirements:  Ability to use planning, foresight, facility goals and needs to analyze and make decisions while involving appropriate parties. Develops, directs and insures the implementation of department services that promote optimum health care delivery and customer service. Ability to professionally manage department personnel as well as make necessary changes. Accountable for participation and collaboration in planning, implementing and evaluating standards to insure safe, efficient and therapeutically effective health care. Individual must embrace facility strategic initiatives.  Qualified candidates will possess: • Current CA RN License, BLS certification • At least 5 years hospital leadership management experience preferably in surgical services • Master’s Degree strongly preferred.
