The Department of Infection Control serves the entire hospital and over 80 outpatient facilities. Department structure includes: Director of Infection Control, 2 full-time Practitioners, 1 part-time Practitioner that covers the outpatient facilities, and 1 Secretary. The department participates in National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN). Current goals include increased compliance with Standard Precautions, and decrease in HAI’s.
Reporting to the Director of Infection Control, the Practitioner is responsible for providing surveillance, reporting statistics, preparing programs, investigating outbreaks, and performing consultations. Innovation and/or research in performance improvement is strongly encouraged.
The ideal candidate for this position will have at least 5 years of experience in Acute Care. The Practitioner will be a team player and collaborator, with proven ability to establish and maintain excellent working relationships. The Practitioner will be a facilitator of change, with strong problem solving skills. Excellent communication is necessary, verbal and written. Also needed are: ability to interpret and prepare analysis documents, and experience participating in performance improvement activities. RN or BS, MT required. Must be Certified in Infection Control.
