Phoenix Childrens Hospital is Arizonas only licensed childrens hospital, providing world-classcare in more than 40 pediatric specialties to our states sickest kids. Though Phoenix Childrens isone of the 10 largest freestanding childrens hospitals in the country, rapid population growth inArizona means the Hospital must grow as well. Phoenix Childrens recently announced a $588million expansion plan to bring its special brand of family-centered care to even more patients andfamilies. The plan includes a significant upgrade of the Hospital's current campus, an aggressivephysician recruitment effort, and new satellite centers in high growth areas of the Valley. For moreinformation, visit the Hospitals Web site at www.phoenixchildrens.com Primary Purpose: This position serves as a liaison between Patient Care Services and Information Technology Services to assist in the design, development, maintenance and training for assigned clinical and business systems to support the care of patients and research efforts at Phoenix Childrens Hospital. This position will assist in the selection and evaluation of new applications and will lead training efforts of clinical staff in the use of the systems to support patient care. This position is responsible for the development of methods for collecting, organizing and reporting data and will collaborate with other departments to achieve optimum use of the clinical system as well as assist in the development and coordination of training for staff. Work Environment: Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled hospital setting subject to long periods of sitting, standing and walking; Visual acuity and manual dexterity associated with daily use of desktop; bending stooping, reaching and lifting up to 20 pounds; ability to clearly communicate clearly. Must communicate clearly in English. Requires the ability to speak, read, write, see, and hear to perform essential duties of the job. Effective and positive human relations skills are required, including confidentiality, in order to appropriately interface with all levels of Phoenix Children's Hospital staff, physicians, patients, their families and other contacts. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: 1. Clinical experience in a hospital setting preferred (RN degree or experience as a clinical care provider preferred but not required).2. Experience in the development and deployment of clinical systems, in either a technical or process development capacity.3. At least 1-2 years previous experience with integrated, clinical information systems and/or electronic medical records within a hospital or physician practice setting. Preferred Qualifications: 1. At least 1-2 years experience in healthcare informatics and/or information management preferred.2. Prior experience acting as a clinical / technical liaison preferred.3. Formal training in healthcare informatics strongly preferred.
