IS PROJECT MANAGER
- Bachelors degree is required GENERAL SUMMARY: The IS Project Manager is responsible to department leader(s). This position is responsible for managing LRMC resources, including employees, during the execution of projects under his/her management. S/he is expected to demonstrate the organizational values of care, quality, stewardship, accountability, integrity and courtesy. S/he works collaboratively with other leaders and supervisors to achieve department, center and hospital-wide quality, safety, satisfaction and financial goals. The IS Project Manager is responsible to the Manager, IS Project Management Office. S/he manages a project team(s) committed to common purpose and goals and holds self mutually accountable for team outcomes. S/he exhibits behaviors that meet cultural expectations of the organization. Shares, as scheduled, a 24-hour, 7-day week responsibility for all aspects of team functions. The IS Project Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day operational and tactical aspects of projects including the initiating, planning, executing, monitoring and controlling, and closing of all projects assigned to him/her. The IS Project Manager may be required to manage a single large project or multiple smaller projects at any given time. The IS Project Manager is responsible for managing all project related resources during the execution of assigned projects including, budget, human resources, costs, schedule, quality, scope, and deliverables. S/he is expected to manage all projects in accordance with all relevant LRMC hospital and IS standards, policies, and procedures. While the IS Project Manager is responsible for managing project resources on project related activities, the project team members do not report directly to the IS Project Manager, rather they are "dotted line" reports only for project specific activities. In this arrangement the IS Project Manager will be expected to work closely with the Functional Manager on issues related to performance. The IS Project Manager is responsible for functioning within scope of individual education, and competence. The IS Project Manager must identify opportunities for and contribute to the improvement of quality, safety and cost, as well as patient, customer, and employee satisfaction. S/he may perform other duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Preferred: Knowledge of IT Service Management and Governance principles and processes such as ITIL and COBIT. Required: Knowledge and skills in one or more Project Management systems (such as MS Project Server, Sharepoint). EDUCATION: Preferred: None Required: Bachelors degree with a major in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Project Management, Business Management, or equivalent professional experience. EXPERIENCE: Preferred: Experience managing multiple large complex projects using a formal project management methodology such as PMI or PRINCE2 Experience utilizing a formal Quality Management methodology such as Six-Sigma, TQM, or Crosby Experience utilizing a formal Service Management and or Governance framework such as COBIT or ITIL. 10+ years of Project/Program Management experience. Required: 5+ years of Project/Program Management experience. LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/ OTHER: Preferred: One or more: ITIL, COBIT, CMMI, Six Sigma.
