INFUSION NURSE

Assesses patient condition based upon observation and/or interview of patient/significant other, physician diagnosis, lab findings, and any other pertinent information. Uses professional judgment to prescribe a nursing plan of care based on assessment data that is intended to achieve measurable outcomes consistent with assessment of patients' condition and physicians treatment plans. Provides comprehensive nursing care to those outpatients seen in the clinic and their families, e.g., frequent physical assessment with identification of significant problems, monitoring, evaluating and providing follow-up on pertinent lab values. Evaluates patients response to nursing care and modifies of revises treatment plans, and/or contacts physicians as circumstances require. Performs technical procedures safely and within scope of practice. Demonstrates ability to perform both complex and routine treatments. Documents according to established department/unit/clinic guidelines; assessment date, interventions/nursing actions, outcomes/responses to interventions.

Professional knowledge of nursing theory and practice at a level normally acquired through completion of a program at an accredited School of Nursing.

Current State of Wisconsin Registered Nurse license.

Approximately three to five years experience in the areas of medical/surgical nursing including transplantation, renal and/or dialysis nursing.
