Health Systems Analyst - Massachusetts Medical Society



For more than 200 years, the Massachusetts Medical Society has served as a professional membership organization for physicians.  Today, through the combined efforts of our 400 employees – and publications including The New England Journal of Medicine – we continue to serve as an advocate for physicians and patients, furthering the goal of quality medical care and publishing reports on important advances in medical science and practice.

HEALTH SYSTEMS ANALYST

Working with physicians, medical practice staff, and payers you will identify and resolve a variety of practice and system issues including reimbursement, policy, medical and operational issues. As a subject matter expert you will be a key resource in specified areas such as coding, payer initiative trends, pay for performance, and credentialing.  You will also provide input to health systems educational programs and communications, and provide support to the Physician Practice Resource Center.  Responsibilities include monitoring and tracking health system changes, developing and maintaining information systems, analyzing and reporting on data and trends, providing support for physician committees, and participating in related projects and initiatives.A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and three or more years of related healthcare experience resolving reimbursement, medical and operational issues are required. An in-depth understanding of physician concerns and practice environments is also necessary.  Strong project management, research and analytical skills, along with excellent interpersonal, written and oral communications skills are essential.
