Grants Coordinator
Planned Parenthood Hudson Peconic's mission is to empower individuals to determine their own sexual health and reproductive futures.
We are currently seeking a Grants Writer for our Hawthorne, NY location.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Research and write persuasive grant proposals for programs, services, general operations, and capital projects, based on program plans developed and budgeted by departments and prioritized in partnership with the President/CEO, Senior Vice President, External Affairs, Senior Vice President, Compliance & Human Resources, and other leadership staff. Develop a plan for soliciting annual grants, including time lines and potential revenue. Closely monitor progress of all grant requests after they have been submitted. Coordinate and conduct all necessary follow-up activities. Write thank you letters and other correspondence to grant funders. Draft reports and ensure that they are submitted on a timely basis. Maintain tracking system and filing system of all cultivation, solicitation, acknowledgements and reports to foundation, corporations and government (public) funders. Assist in budget development of all grant proposals. Conduct research to identify potential new grant opportunities from current pool of funders, as well as new prospects. Present RFP’s to the President/CEO, Senior Vice President, External Affairs or Senior Vice President, Compliance & Human Resources for consideration, help develop the program/ project and submission of applications. Complete special writing assignments as needed. Represent PPHP at bidder and funder meetings. Assumes other responsibilities as delegated by Senior Vice President, External Affairs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in related field. Minimum of 3-5 years of grant proposal writing and foundation relations experience with successful track record required. Exceptional research, writing, analytical skills and budget development experience. Experience and ability to work with diverse individuals, including foundation funders and program staff. Excellent organizational skills. Ability to set priorities; meet deadlines and work under pressure. Ability to work independently and as a team member. Proficient in basic computer skills including MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
