Grant Writer for Partners Home Care and Hospice

Description:For both Partners Home Care and Partners Hospice, the Grant Writer is responsible for planning, writing, editing and submitting grant proposals, conducting prospect and foundation research and monitoring programs to ensure compliance with grant requirements for private and corporate foundations. Responsible for increasing grant funding from private and corporate foundations to meet growing organizational needs.Qualifications:*Must have a Bachelors' degree in English, journalism, public administration or related area.*Must have three years professional writing experience, preferably in a development context.*A minimum of five years experience in writing and submitting grants to private, corporate, Federal or State funders in a non-profit setting. *Must have strong computer experience in software programs in the Windows environment to include MS Word and Excel.*Must have general knowledge of accounting procedures and budget development and administration.*Experience with developing program budgets and grant reporting.Sucess Factors:*An understanding of non-profit organizations preferably in health care.*Ability to innovate.*Extremely high level of professionalism, collegiality, self-motivation and organization.*Excellent communication skills.*Ability to work collaboratively with other members of the staff, clinicians, administrative leaders and volunteers.*An even disposition, which enables candidate to deal effectively and politely with people from all types of backgrounds and experiences in all types of difficult situations.*Strong work ethicPrincipal Duties and Responsibilities:*Preparing grant applications for submission including writing grant narratives, coordinating and submitting standardized forms, preparing tables and assembling attachments and appendices. *Conducting grant surveillance and new program proposal development to address funding gaps.*Conduct interdepartmental meetings to gather information for grant program proposal development, grant implementation launches and outcome reviews.*Responsible for communicating with program/project managers to ensure implementation begins, outcomes are measured timely, budget is managed and project completed in accordance with grant. *Works with stewardship officer to effectively provide funders with relevant and current information on organizational milestones and/or invitations to cultivation/update events.*Manages and distributes to appropriate development and operations staff a monthly report of grants received, pending, declined and proposals in development and submitted.Salary/Benefits: Salary commensurate with experienceSee website www.partnershomecare.org Job Location: Waltham, MAJob Number: 3192Company URL: http://www.partnershomecare.org/
