Financial Analyst
POSITION SUMMARY: The Financial Analyst is responsible for financial analysis and budgeting for assigned owned and managed centers (SNF’s & ALF’s) and Service Companies. In addition, the Financial Analyst is responsible for supporting the Vice Regional Vice President of Operations (RVPO) in any and all financial analysis and budget assignments.
RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Support assigned RVPO’s with financial analysis of their centers and regional markets. This includes, but is not limited to, assuring they receive their monthly financial statements and requested operating information timely. Identify operational trends, variance to budget items, and provide other analytical support as requested.
2. Coordinate/lead preparation of annual operating and capital budgets for owned and managed centers and Service Companies.
3. Strong knowledge of system and reporting tools (PeopleSoft, PointClickCare, Performance Scorecard, Data Warehouse, SpendRight, GenSTAR, OmniView, and other systems as they become available.
4. Assist with the preparation of monthly Regional Controller’s Report, especially relating to Business Units of assigned RVPO’s.
5. Identify financial issues and prepare analysis and proposed solutions.
6. Prepare financial analyses requested by managed clients, operational management, or as directed by supervisor.
7. Travel is required as requested by RVPO’s or supervisor, including attending monthly RVPO meetings with their Administrators.
8. Other duties, assignments and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
1. B.S. required in accounting preferred and at least 5 years of experience in healthcare administration/financial accounting or public accounting. Proven track record of analytical success.
JOB SKILLS:
1. Knowledge of accounting principles and practices. Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid regulations, rate setting, billing and reimbursement methodologies.
2. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality with regard to sensitive information accumulated during the course of business.
3. High degree of PC expertise required with Excel.
4. Ability to communicate effectively on several professional levels.
5. Ability to identify problems and make recommendations for expeditious results
