Executive Assistant (Development Office)

Joslin Diabetes Center is an internationally recognized diabetes care, research and education institution affiliated with Harvard Medical School and headquartered in Boston, MA. Joslin is a non-profit organization dedicated to finding a cure for diabetes and improving the lives of people with diabetes through its cutting edge basic and clinical research, patient care programs for children and adults, and through programs and publications that improve the care of diabetes worldwide.

The Executive Assistant provides administrative, organizational and executive secretarial assistance to the Senior Vice President of Development using discretion and independent judgment, in a high visibility position and a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities Include:Provides administrative and executive secretarial assistance to the Senior Vice President, Development.  Opens mail and prioritizes correspondence including drafting, transcribing, reviewing and editing correspondence. Schedules and coordinates meetings, books travel arrangements, and organizes travel schedules.Initiates and manages external leadership activities and events.  Schedules and coordinates Trustee, Overseer and volunteer meetings.  Acts as a liaison for the Senior Vice President in maintaining effective communication with outside visitors, trustees and donors.

Qualifications Include:College Degree preferred.Five to six years professional business experience.Knowledge of all Microsoft office products, especially PowerPoint. Strong businessand administrative skills.Clear and effective writing skills.Ability to work independently and confidentially, and to interact with donors, trustees, patients and staff in a professional manner.Organizational skills for coordinating meetings, travel scheduling and specific arrangements.Excellent time management, multitasking, and organizational skills.Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
