Environmental Services Assistant Lead

Job Description Imagine yourself . . .

Cleaning furniture and carpets in rooms, hallways, stairs, and offices using proper power equipment.
Cleaning patient care areas, public/private toilets, conference rooms, lobbies, offices, elevators, and stairwells.
Collecting trash and recyclable waste from all areas within the facility. Sanitizing trash receptacles. Collecting hazardous trash following established infection control guidelines.
Leading, directing and coordinating daily work activities to minimize any interruptions in patient care.
Issuing daily work assignments including handling key control responsibilities and changing area assignments. Wearing and answering pager and responding to requests from employees and hospital staff. Documenting activities and progress of the environmental service staff.
Being responsible for initial job and on-the-job training of employees. Demonstrating competency in utilizing environmental services procedures and equipment. Assisting with QA's, and competencies of Housekeeping staff.

General Qualifications
Requires ability to perform tasks with due consideration for doctors, nurses, patients, public and other staff.

Ability to follow simple oral and written instructions.

Requires that incumbent will use initiative for cleaning tasks, be able to set priorities and be aware of and follow department policies and procedures in all situations.

Requires availability for weekend and holiday assignments.

Desired Qualifications
High school education or equivalent strongly preferred.

Minimum one (1) year environmental service experience. Leadership experience preferred.
