Job Summary
The Enterprise Architect is responsible for enabling BCBSAZ to take full advantage of the current and future information technology by maximizing benefits, capitalizing on opportunities, and gaining competitive advantage that will meet and exceed its goals and strategies.
Another way to summarize the position is to say this role seeks opportunities for synergy across Blue Cross Blue Shield of AZ's diverse technology landscape to maximize resources and exceed goal.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Update blueprints for each technology solution portfolio semi-annually. The updating will require extensive business and technological research and understanding of the current environment. In addition, the blueprints must be validated that they will increase the quality of the integrated solution, will lower overall costs, and will increase the integration and leverage with current systems. After updating is completed, approval must be obtained for the blueprints from both the business and system owners.
2. Partner with assigned business owners to develop and document an understanding of their business processes, both current and future, along with the supporting systems at least semi-annually. Also, within the documentation, document and understand all associated current and future organizational and divisional projects associated with the processes. Continually dive deeper within the processes to develop improved coordination between supporting systems. Once completed, receive approval with both the business and system owners of the associated business process and supporting systems.
3. Perform intensive research on approved technology and business-related standards, topics, or current business problems and document impacts/potential considerations of these on our business processes and supporting systems. Create summary documentation and presentation. Then, lead the discussions with associated business and system owners to possibly integrate or implement the research.
4. For newly identified projects, perform initial requirements gathering and lead project estimation/assumption discussion within IT.
5. Assists IT and BCBSAZ management as required.
