EMC-Clinical Laboratory Technician*

Eden Medical Center is a 387-bed, not-for-profit medical center with approximately 2000 employees at our two campuses. Together, we’re working to improve the health of our communities.  Under the direction of the Chemistry Supervisor or designated Lead Scientist working in that section, performs basic technical procedures, including handling, processing and testing specimens within limits specified by California Law. In addition, uses computerized information systems to record and retrieve data from on-site and reference laboratories, prepares, labels, and stores stock working reagents, and completes assigned responsibilities in an efficient, productive and cost-effective manner. This position requires phlebotomy/ekg skills and has limited contact with patients of all ages.High School diploma required. Two years college biological science cources required. Possession of a CLT certificate preferred. Two years experience operating laboratory analyzers in a hospital or commerical reference laboratory.Must be able to handle unpleasant specimens and foul odors. Various laboratory equipment. Excellent communication and written skills. Ability to lift and carry 10 to 15 lbs. Subject to sitting, standing, bending, stooping and reaching. OSHA Risk Category I (High Risk).  CPT 1 certificate required.
