EHR Business Analyst II - EHR Link
The Business Analyst II assists with the implementation and support of assigned applications from both the application-user and technical perspectives. This position provides application and some technical support for the product line in addition to providing triage and troubleshooting assistance to the product customers and Help Desk staff. The Business Analyst II works closely with other IT department groups and may assist with some of the technical aspects of product implementation/rollout and support. The incumbent may monitor the systems for data quality, efficiency, operation, and data integrity. This position assists in critical work in system analysis, design, development, documentation, and configuration as well as testing and training of the product. It is preferred that this incumbent have a thorough understanding of hospital inpatient, clinic outpatient operations, and/or financial software along with understanding the technical environment of product lines they are responsible for.The incumbent must maintain a familiarity with new and currently installed applications in order to provide customer support and direction on the effective use and continued growth of the application products. Information Technology's (IT) key approaches to meet these needs consists of the Applications, Telecommunications, Project Management, Web, and Technology. We continue to review IT optimization across our affiliates, regions and entire enterprise. Education:A bachelor's degree in Health Care Administration, Information Management, Computer Science, the Application area, a related Health Care field is required. OR- A certification in Business CPMA from HFMA, Registered Nursing, Technology, or Therapy is required. OR- The equivalent combination of education, training, application/hardware support, hardware/software installation projects, and hospital/clinic operation experience may be substituted.Experience:A minimum of three to five (3-5) years of experience in a related area is preferred. Software/Hardware implementation experience using diversified product lines of information systems is preferred. Experience managing, supporting, and/or implementing complex projects that require coordination of resource, budget development, and project planning is preferred. Hospital and/or other health care application experience preferred.Knowledge:Knowledge of health care operations and structure, department-specific policies and procedures and workflows, general requirements in an integrated delivery system, and use of information system applications in the practicing health care environment is preferred. Knowledge of systems analysis and design in a PC-Windows, client-server, or midrange environment is desired. Knowledge of current technology and how it is best utilized in designing systems and implementing applications is desired.Working knowledge and understanding of information technology concepts and technologies is preferred. A good working knowledge of computer science, related programming, data structures and relational databases is preferred. Significant knowledge of computer systems hardware and software is preferred. Working knowledge of one of the following: MS NT, SQL, RPG and/or various databases (e.g., Informix, Mumps, Oracle) is preferred.Special Skills/Equipment:Should have strong problem and issue resolution experience. Must be able to be involved in multiple projects at the same time. Should have good organization skills, be able to prioritize multiple activities and objectives in a rapidly changing environment, and deliver quality service. Must be able to work closely with health care application users, vendors, and technical professionals, building teams when necessary. Must be committed to providing exceptional customer service and responding to user needs in a prompt, courteous manner. Should be proficient at specifying user requirements, interacting with technical, health care staff and vendors, and documenting user needs, outcomes, and procedures. Must have a positive attitude and be willing to learn new skills. Must possess the ability to maintain a high level of energy and creativity while working independently or as part of a team. Should have demonstrated success in the techniques and communication skills needed to successfully support software installation and application support. Should be able to use project management and other professional software tools. Should possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Should be able to articulate technical and user needs in a concise manner easily understood by all.Physical Requirements:Occasional travel and the ability to adapt to flexible work hours. Will be required to be on call and carry a personal pager 24 hours per day seven days per week for periods of time. Weekend work may be required.
