To provide daily Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) operational, production and administrative support for the inbound and outbound processing of data files received from business partners and clients or their representatives and to update the CONEXIS system with the required information to fulfill service agreements. This includes file transfer and processing, implementation, testing, monitoring and reporting functions of new clients, feeds, and file specifications.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:The EDI Operations and File Transfer Support function is responsible for the monitoring, operations, testing, implementation, file feed setup, and production support of the daily CONEXIS B2B Exchange activities. The Operations Department works to ensure CONEXIS inbound and outbound file transfer is operating efficiently and is meeting established service level agreements. This group also plans and executes trading partner integrations and works closely with All CONEXIS business units.Monitor daily operations and workflow for various areas of EDI file processing to ensure service, performance and compliance with CONEXIS contract provisions. Oversees the setup of all new clients for file transfer.Follow general guidelines, EDI SOP’s and file specifications for file processing including file setup, import source, schema, add/change/delete, field mappings, and other folder setup updates. Provides analysis of data received.Communicate and coordinate file transfer issues with implementation and client services departments. Train clients in understanding the file transfer specifications.Interact effectively with other departments to meet and deliver client expectations.Communicate system problems, resource needs and project status to the appropriate department manager. Use escalation procedures to communicate any project or file delays.Return customer phone calls / e-mails in less than 1 business day, even when answers to problems not ready.Logs and tracks data feeds, builds and runs ad hoc queries for internal and external clients upon request.Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals and assist the department manager/supervisor in developing and promoting ongoing process improvements and efficiency gains.Researches and resolving problems involving File Transfer issues.Address new client concerns, review alternative file specs for compatibility and technical questions from Internal and External customers as they relate to file transfer. Implement high visibility client when management interaction is requested.Monitor and complete setups for all file transfer protocols including standard FTP, SFTP, FTPS, SSH, AS/2, AS/3, and TLS.Communicate to other departments in order to ensure that internal and external client needs are being met.Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:Previous EDI or IT related experience required; minimum of 2 years. Ability to build strong relationships with teams and trading partners. Comprehensive analytical skills. Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner by analyzing information.Strong oral communication skills. Clear and concise written communication skills. Good listening and comprehension skills. Ability to communicate with employees and customers of all levels. Customer Service experience is strongly recommended.Proficient with using reference tools or applications.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Access). Understanding of industry communication protocols, encryption and services, AS2, HTTPS, S/FTP, FTP, PGPE, etc.). Understands EDI Mapping concepts and file formats: XML, CSV, Tab Delimited, Fixed Width and ANSI X12.Experience with Microsoft SQL or relational database is recommended.Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; to write simple correspondence; to effectively present information to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists; to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Must have excellent troubleshooting skills. Good analytical and technical skills.Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc. Demonstrated use of beginner to intermediate computer operations (basic programming in 3rd and 4th generation languages, relational databases, and operating systems) and intermediate software packages, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.Handle multiple tasks & projects simultaneously. Knowledge of CONEXIS or related healthcare benefits administration processing system a plus.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, produce high quality work products. Exhibits a high degree of IT competence, and professional judgment. Demonstrates accountability. Thorough understanding of EDI reporting and communications. Working knowledge of EDI transactions in healthcare industry. Thorough understanding of file transfer reporting and communications.
College degree or related experience required. Qualified candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of EDI or IT related educational and technical experience.
Customer Service experience.
2 years experience with Microsoft Office and Excel.
Experience with Relational Databases and Programming (SQL, C, C++) preferred. General experience and knowledge of healthcare concepts, COBRA law and/or Section 125 Reimbursement Account Regulations and Knowledge of EDI X12 desired.
