ED Staff Educator

The Faulkner Hospital Nursing Department is seeking an experienced Nurse Educator for our high-volume community Emergency Department treating 28,000 patients per year. 

 

The position is a dual report to the Director of Emergency Nursing and the Program Manager for Staff Development and works in conjunction with the Clinical Leaders and Staff Educators to plan, organize, implement and oversee the clinical and program development of the department. 

 

The Staff Educator for the Emergency Department is a key member of the interdisciplinary patient care team and participates in strategic planning, management and operation of the Nursing Department to ensure quality patient care. 

 

The chosen candidate will have the opportunity to advance the professional development of both a stable, diverse group of experienced and knowledgeable nurses, as well as orient and train nurses new to emergency department nursing.

 

The ED Nurses participate in a Unit Based Council with a Shared Governance Model.

 

Qualifications: Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in Massachusetts, a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and Master’s Degree in Nursing or Education or enrollment in a Master’s Degree program are required. 

 

A minimum of five years of recent experience in an Emergency Department setting and prior teaching experience preferred.

 

Certification in Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support and the Trauma Nursing Core Course are also required.

 

Membership in the Emergency Nurses Association and specialty certification as a CEN is encouraged and valued.

 

32 hours per week.
