Director Pharmacy Services:
The Pharmacy Director shall be the pharmacist in charge and maintain control and custody over the possession of dangerous drugs acquired by the institution. The Director is responsible for overall administrative policies governing the pharmacy department, for organizing, developing, directing and coordinating interdepartmental activities of the pharmacy.
The Pharmacy Director is an employee of the Hospital and is accountable only to hospital in order to maintain confidentiality of patient and medical staff information.
The Pharmacy Director reports to Hospital Administration and is responsible for all salaries and hourly subordinate personnel of the Pharmacy Department.
The pharmacy department at Hospital is open from 0700 to 2300 seven days a week with pharmacists’ on-call when the pharmacy is closed. Pharmacy operations are centralized and are supported by a Cerner Millenium Pharmacy System, Pyxis MedStations on all medical and surgical units as well as the OR, PACU and Emergency Department and Pyxis Connect for order transmission. All pharmacists are expected to gain proficiency in kinetic dosing, anticoagulation protocols, IV to Oral and therapeutic interchanges, provision of drug information and order entry and order processing. Qualified applicants must have a California Pharmacist License. Training will be provided to successful applicants whose hospital skills may need to be refreshed.
Anyone with Peds, NICU pharm experience would be great!!
Staff Shifts: 8 hours, Shifts 1 & 2 rotating. Weekend work every other weekend. Pharmacy closes at 11 pm. Call is voluntary at this point. Pharmacists do call to make extra money but it is not a requirement.
Director would work a normal 5 days per week, 8 hours.
Salary is $156,000+.

Qualifications
Minimum of 3-5 years management experience in a clinical hospital environment.
Education - A graduate of a five-year pharmacy course from a College of Pharmacy approved by the National Board. License - Possess a valid current license as a Registered Pharmacist in the State of California. Individual shall be familiar with unit dose, IV admixtures, and clinical pharmacy practice. Good computer skills a plus.
