CEI’s care-centered environment enables and empowers older adults to live in the comfort of their home and communities for as long as medically and socially possible. As our new Director of Behavior and Mental Health Services, you will be based from our Oakland, CA headquarters and be tasked with the primary responsibility of building and facilitating the development of our behavioral and mental health services program. This will entail implementing the necessary policies and procedures to get the program up and running, and then maintaining and growing the program as our organization evolves to ensure CEI continues to deliver high-quality care for our participants who suffer with behavioral and mental disorders. This part-time position is the perfect opportunity for a private practitioner to connect in a different and meaningful way with individuals and families, or for a seasoned mental health care professional seeking more autonomy and less bureaucracy in an impactful mental health care role. Prior practice experience in clinical psychology or neuropsychology will best prepare you for assessing the mental health needs of our participants and providing clinical supervision, recommendations and counseling to our caregivers and mental health staff. Equally important will be your thorough understanding of cognitive impairment disorders and their effect on elderly patients as you will rely heavily on this knowledge for administering and interpreting neuropsychological assessments and for working with staff to formulate and implement behavioral management care plans. Finally, your interpersonal abilities will be tested in your ability to plan, facilitate, and conduct meetings with interdisciplinary team members for providing ongoing feedback on behavioral and mental health issues prevalent among elderly patients as well as for educating and training staff to provide and deliver more precise and effective care.
