Exceptional Care for Children (ECC) has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Development Director. ECC is a non-profit organization providing programs and services to technology-dependent children and their families through skilled nursing, transitional and palliative care. To continue this mission, our organization is seeking a dynamic individual to join our Management Team and be responsible for managing and supervising our fund raising and communication programs. The Development Director plans, organizes, and directs all ongoing and special project funding programs for the organization. Prior fund raising and database management of constituent data experience is critical to this position.  An individual who has worked in the tri-state area and is looking for career growth would be an ideal applicant.

The candidate we are looking for will have demonstrated constituent relationship management experience in the following areas:
·        Special Events
·        Individual & Major Gift Solicitations
·        Government, Corporate & Private Grant Writing & Solicitations
·        Direct Mail Programs
·        Cause-Related Marketing Efforts
·        Planned Giving

Key Responsibilities: Preparing strategic plans with short- and long-range goals to meet company funding objectives and enlisting support from board members, staff, and volunteer organizations.
 Developing and submitting grant proposals for funds from private foundations, corporations, and government agencies.
 Identifying potential contributors to special project funds and ongoing operations through examination of past records, individual and corporate contracts, and knowledge of the community.
 Developing public relations materials to enhance organization image and promote fund raising program.
 Planning and coordinating benefit events such as banquets, balls, or auctions.
 Organizing solicitation drives for pledges of ongoing support from individuals, corporations, and foundations.

 Qualifications:
YOU MUST HAVEÂ PRIOR EXPERIENCE INÂ FUND RAISING TO BE CONSIDEREDÂ FOR THIS JOBÂ
Bachelors degree from an accredited, four-year college or university with five years experience.Â
Prior experience with healthcare and/or non-profit a plus.Â
Successful completion of a criminal record check and drug screen required.
Â
Skills: Strong organizational, management and administrative skills including the
ability to multi-task. The proven ability to solicit and close financial agreements with
donors is essential. A sound understanding of financial reports and budgeting are
required. Excellent interpersonal skills and excellent oral and written presentation skills
are needed. Familiarity with word processing, spreadsheet, and database management
software is needed. Ease and comfort in speaking with corporate leaders.

Work Experience: A minimum of five years of experience.  Experience in direct solicitation and closing gifts required. Event planning experience is also required.
Â
Work Environment: Flexibility to work evenings and weekends is necessary to represent ECC and attend community fundraising events. Frequent travel within the region is required.

Compensation: Salary commensurate with experience. Excellent benefits package including medical, dental, life, disability, 403 (b), vacation and sick.Â
