About Us:
National Cardiovascular Partners participates in the development, ownership and management of cardiac cath labs. They have built and led teams with extensive experience in cardiovascular programs, ambulatory surgery center, diagnostic center and freestanding dialysis center development and management.
 
About the Position:
We are seeking an experienced Director of Coding Operations and Compliance for our Houston, TX office.

Responsibilities for this position include:

· Oversees medical coding operations to ensure organizational compliance with medical coding guidelines, standards and requirements.
· Continually develops, manages and evaluates effectiveness of all medical coding compliance policies, procedures, and programs to ensure that such efforts are consistent with internal, third party, and regulatory guidelines, standards and requirements.
· Conducts periodic risk assessments and collaborates with appropriate personnel to develop corrective action plans to address issues.
· Works directly with outsourced coding vendor to ensure timely and accurate coding.
· Serves in a leadership role for the organization’s HIPAA compliance program and related initiatives.
· Provides guidance and assistance in the identification, implementation, and maintenance of the organization’s information technology privacy policies and procedures.
· Serves as the point of contact for compliance and privacy questions, concerns and initiatives.
· Oversees revenue cycle activities as they relate to coding.
· Facilitates the flow of the revenue cycle by identifying best practices, obstacles, breakdowns, and inefficiencies.
· Takes a multi-departmental approach by partnering with business office staff to resolve billing matters across the revenue cycle.
· Reviews and recommends changes and updates to coding processes, policies, and practices to facilitate accurate and comprehensive billing.
· Manages a team of employees to carry out coding and compliance operational deliverables.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business Management or Healthcare Administration
· Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration preferred
· Minimum 10 years healthcare coding experience, with a strong emphasis on revenue management
· Minimum 10 years healthcare privacy experience
· Minimum 5 years managerial experience
· Experience in cardiac coding a plus
· Experience working with healthcare insurance companies
· Registered Health Information Technologist (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) preferred
· CCS or CCS-P certification through AKIMA and/or CPC or CPC-H certification AAPC required
· Strong communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills
· Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet applications

This position is based in Houston, TX.
