RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

Ensure all department processes and activities are in compliance with applicable laws and government regulations

General Management - Effectively manages the department while promoting the hospital's values and strategic initiatives.  

Leadership - Effectively leads the staff in day-to-day and long-term initiatives.  

Human Resources - Responsible for the effective utilization of the human resources assigned to the area.  

Planning - Responsible for department planning while maintaining a hospital-wide focus and managing results to the operating budget.  

Directs the daily activities of department to effectively perform the function of the Patient Accounts DepartmentManages the daily activities of the Patient Accounts functions. Is responsible for data entry, A/R reconciliation, A/R year-end reports, Third-Party billing, refunds, special billing, Medicare/Medicaid logs, self-pay collectors and insurance follow-up. Assist in A/R management after billing to maximize cash flow from insurance government sources and private payors. Provides overall leadership and direction to 45+ employees.

REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor's Degree5+ years as a hospital supervisor with 5 years work experience in the areas of hospital patient accounts, 3rd party billing, Medicare/Medicaid logs, Self-Pay Collections, etc.Strong written and communication skills, strong analytical ability, and experience with a computerized hospital billing systemCPAR is a plus.
