Director, Health & Productivity Research

Location- Washington, D.C. or Cambridge, MA

We are seeking a Research Director with experience managing a research business and strong analytical/applied research skills (senior health economist) in the following areas:

·  Health promotion/disease prevention

·  Worksite health promotion

·  Health and productivity management

·  Financial impact analysis

·  Applied research, and program evaluation.

You will review, interpret and synthesize quantitative and qualitative data from government and private sector funded research projects.

You will have oversight of client and project management function, including supervision of staff and management of departmental financial performance including sales, contract revenue, margin, and department profitability.

You will focus on generating revenue and retain customer relationships around research projects.

 

You will support business development process by actively leading and/or participating in proposal development efforts.

You will recruit and retain a highly talented staff including researchers, programmers, analysts, economists, and/or statisticians as required.

You will manage financial performance by ensuring financial goals for all assigned department(s) are maintained (revenue and income), contract margins meet annual plan targets, and that the receivables (billed and unbilled) for all contracts are collected to meet annual targets. 

You will drive resolution of client issues through senior management, data management, and product development infrastructure. 

You will be familiar with the worksite health promotion literature and possess excellent writing, presentation, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Requirements-

·  Graduate level education, Ph.D., MBA, MPHA, or equivalent education and experience.

·  10+ years of experience in healthcare information consulting/research, with client contact at senior levels and demonstrated business development skills.

·  10+ years of managerial experience managing multiple employees and major accounts.

·  Current or prior responsibility must have included annual revenue accountability in excess of $1 million.

·  Proven history of ability to capture the attention and respect of key decision makers in the client environment.

·  Possess a superior understanding of both new business development and consulting methodology.

·  Expertise with business organizations coupled with academic research experience is desirable.
