Director Clinical Training
JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for the coordination and delivery of initial and ongoing technical and professional skills training programs, with emphasis in the VA and Health Plan Medical Management departments. Coordinate and conduct the onboarding and training of all new clinical trainers both in VB and the Health Plans. Lead Organizational Development &Training Clinical point of contact for instructional design team and Health Care Managed Services in the development and revision of training materials. OD&T lead around the clinical training needs surrounding new implementations. Identify and implement training best practices and innovative solutions to complex training implementations. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: 1.Lead local and regional Clinical training team in both the VB office and Health Plan locations. 2.First point of contact with the Virginia Beach and Health Plan medical management departments. 3.Provide consulting services to all levels of the organization in support of clinical training development and delivery needs. 4.Lead the recruitment and retention activities for Clinical Trainers. 5.Conduct or arrange for ongoing technical training and personal development classes for staff members. 6.Develop, implement and deliver training program utilizing adult learning theories and principles. 7.Monitor key business indicators in order to identify training needs. 8.Utilize appropriate methods, techniques, and equipment. 9.Monitor effectiveness of programs and progress of trainees. 10.Partner with associates and leadership to ensure training and development needs support key business objectives. 11.Provide feedback to business partners regarding challenge areas to improve productively and procedures. 12.Utilize superb platform skills to present technical information effectively in a classroom setting, one on one or using distance learning technology. 13.Other special projects and duties as requested or assigned. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Required: College degree or equivalent experience Preferred: Bachelor's or Master's degree; training certification Required: Managed Care Experience 5-7 years training experience; technical training considered a plus 2-4 years managing others in a training capacity Preferred: Case Management and/or Utilization Management experience or certification desirable Training experience, preferably in health care Technical background considered a plus Specific Technical Skills Required: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications Preferred: Healthcare information systems experience highly desirable. Certifications or Licensure Required: LPN Preferred: RN desirable Training or managed care certification highly desirable. Required: Capable of managing multiple, simultaneous projects. Demonstrated ability to succeed in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment. Appreciation of cultural diversity and sensitivity towards target population. Ability to become a subject matter expert in a variety of topics. Demonstrated ability to interface with employees and customers with a high degree of tact and diplomacy. Ability to meet company travel requirements. SCOPE INFORMATION Direct Reports 14 PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Must be able to operate computer, phone and general office equipment. Must be able to travel as required (approx 30%) using common carriers and adhere to AGP?s travel policy.
