Diabetes Educator - Licensed Dietitian (Part-time)

The Diabetes Educator functions as a coordinator to mange quality and cost components of health care for patients with diabetes. Acts as a consultant to nursing staff and other health care professionals to provide specialized knowledge and enhance quality and cost effective care. Demonstrates leadership skills as a diabetes expert by facilitating changes in patient care delivery. Contributes to educational and professional development of nursing staff, other health care professionals and the community. Knowledge of latest research and current trends in diabetes care. Functions as an independent practitioner and demonstrates effective communication skills with physicians and community through program development. Job qualifications include:Bachelors Degree in Dietetics or Nutrition required. American Dietetic Association Registration required (R.D.) Must have current state licensure as a Dietitian (L.D.) Previous experience as a Diabetic Educator required. Customer service abilities including effective listening skills. Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast paced environment. Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 lbsBenefits:
