Position: Database Developer Reports to: VP of Technology A Place for Mom, Inc. is the nation's largest eldercare referral service. The company employs several hundred staff members, 90% of which are Family Advisors who provide personal and professional assistance to families searching the maze of eldercare alternatives. This service is provided free to families searching for options such as assisted living, Alzheimer's care, nursing homes, retirement communities, and personal care homes. Over the past five years A Place for Mom has helped over 100,000 families find care for their aging loved ones. We currently have a network of over 11,000 senior care properties nationwide that we refer to.The company is privately held and was founded in 2000 by four executives, two from the senior housing industry and two from the internet/computer industry. The company currently has three business lines: A Place for Mom – the eldercare referral service; You’ve Got Leads – an online CRM system for the senior housing industry; and The Family Advisor – a senior housing resource publication for consumers. Position Description: Seeking a database developer to join a small, growing development team focused on building the largest eldercare referral service and the most widely used web-based customer relationship management system in the eldercare industry. The software is delivered via a web-based ‘Software as a Service’ model. Core responsibilities of the position include data import/extract and report generation using T-SQL, overall web application maintenance utilizing ASP, ASP.NET, C# and T-SQL. Responsibilities Include: · Perform regular SQL data imports/extracts and reports supporting existing and new customers· Leverage skills in ASP, HTML and Javascript in support and enhancement of existing application features· Resolve product issues by providing hot fixes and service packs as necessary· Design and implement .NET web forms in support of new application features and enhancements· Work collaboratively with other development peers to design and implement web-based product features and enhancements· Develop functional specifications and technical design documents as required· Provide on going support to corporate staff with application related questions and issues· Investigate applicability of newest evolving technologies in rich presentation tier software development · Provide technical mentorship to other team members across-disciplines Qualifications should include: · Knowledge of relational database concepts and thorough knowledge of T-SQL· 2 years experience developing web applications· Some experience developing in .NET, particularly ASP.NET and C# · Knowledge of web development technologies such as ASP, HTML and Javascript· Demonstrated knowledge of software development lifecycle and methodologies· Strong verbal and written communication skills· Knowledge of Microsoft Visual Studio development environment· BS in Computer Science or related engineering discipline or equivalent professional experience Helpful Experience and Education: Experience developing in a team environment leveraging Microsoft Team Foundation ServerKnowledge of and/or experience in the eldercare industryBusiness application experience in the areas of customer relationship management, sales force automation, customer service or product support.
