Its services include intake coordination, benefits and reimbursement support, medication fulfillment and administration, compliance and patient education, one-on-one care and customer service. Skilled nurses and pharmacists are accessible 24/7 to deliver and manage complex infusion and injectable therapies from more than 100 OptionCare home infusion and specialty pharmacies in 35 states. OptionCare’s services also include respiratory and home medical equipment at some locations. Walgreen Co. is the nation’s largest drugstore chain with fiscal 2007 sales of $53.8 billion. The company operates more than 6,100 stores in 49 states and Puerto Rico, including 77 Happy Harry’s stores in Delaware and surrounding states. Walgreens is expanding its patient-first health care services beyond the traditional pharmacy through Walgreens Health Services, its managed care division, and Take Care Health Systems, a wholly owned subsidiary that manages convenient care clinics at drugstores. Walgreens Health Services assists pharmacy patients and prescription drug and medical plans through Walgreens Health Initiates Inc. (a pharmacy benefit manager), Walgreens Mail Service Inc., Walgreens Home Care Inc., and Walgreens Specialty Pharmacy LLC.Essential Skills:The responsibilities of this position may include all or part of the following:• Supervises a team of Reimbursement Specialists and Reimbursement Assistants.• Verifies that all appropriate reimbursement paperwork has been obtained, completed and accurate prior to billing.• Assures the timely and accurate submission of invoices to the responsible payer for services and products provided.• Evaluates payments received for final resolution and application to the patient account.• Assures that timely and accurate follow up activity is performed on all invoices that are not paid within 30 days of submission.• Assists Reimbursement Specialists with “first level” reviews/appeals. Completes all “second level” reviews/appeals to payers.• Assists with Billing and Collection Training.• Performs all reimbursement auditing functions per Option Care Policies and Procedures.• Trains, monitors, and mentors staff.• Special Projects as assigned.Qualifications:QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Requirements• High School Diploma or Equivalent• Ability to learn medical terminology• Ability to learn healthcare software applications• Ability to do basic mathematics• Ability to work independently and stay on task • Ability to get to the job site• Ability to work under stressful conditions• Experience and Knowledge with Excel and Word• Excellent Communication SkillsQUALIFICATIONS: Preferred • Prior medical billing experience• Technical training in Medical Billing• Prior Supervisory experience• BA in Business/Accounting/Liberal Arts.
