Customer Account Specialist

Kelsey National Corporation (KNC) is an experienced marketer and administrator of fully insured group and HMO benefit plans, developed especially for Small Businesses and Trade Association Members across the United States. KNC offers a competitive line of group medical, dental, life and disability income products. Additionally, KNC offers a portfolio of quality insurance products and HMOs to individual customers.

We currently have a job opening for an experienced Customer Account Specialist.  I. BASIC FUNCTIONS

 

This position is primarily responsible for customer retention.  This is achieved by answering customer inquiries and handling issues regarding the billing and commissions. This position also supports new plan, renewal, and rollover projects by updating the TAS system. 

 II.  PRIMARY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 Customer Support

Support customer’s phone and written inquiries regarding billing or eligibility.  This may include account audits, preparation of billing adjustments, refund request to accounting, review of eligibility records and coordination with KNC Data Processing or the carrier.

 TAS System

Input or change Plan Masters, Rate Tables, Firm and Participant records.  Reconcile billing/rate problems.  Reactivate employees and adjust premiums.

 Special Handling of Terminated & Reinstated Accounts

Review of terminated accounts and request for reinstatements.  This includes research, reactivation of the account, and special correspondence to carriers and clients.

 Cash Reconciliation

Review daily cash reports for unbalanced and suspended items.  Research and resolve all discrepancies.

 Review of Error and Edit Reports

Daily, Weekly, and Monthly reports are created in Data Processing to be reviewed by this position and acted upon as needed.

 III. KNOWLDEGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

 

High Analytical skills required.

 

Insurance experience is a plus.

 

Abilities required are to be attentive to detail, to handle multiple tasks, independently prioritize, and to have mathematical abilities.

 

Excellent skills required are PC (including Microsoft Word & Excel), AS 400, writing and verbal communication skills.
