Customer Account Representative Clinic

Job Description Greets patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous, and helpful manner and responds to routine requests for information. Responsible for patient check-in. Assists patients in completing all necessary forms; obtains demographic and insurance information for customers and verifies insurance coverage. Collects co-pays, deductibles, and previous balances; posts payments and updates on-line all registration and insurance information as necessary. Answers telephone, screens calls, takes messages.

General Qualifications
In lieu of degree, three years of demonstrable customer relations experience in a similar job in a health care environment. Experience using a billing system such as SMX or IDX preferred. Exceptional human relations/customer service skills and a high degree of diplomacy and tact needed. Must have the ability to deal with a variety of people under stressful circumstances. Must be able to work as a member of a team and independently.Proficiency in using mainframe or personal computer applications including Microsoft Word and Excel required

Desired Qualifications
Associates Degree in Business Administration or related field along with one year of experienceKnowledge of third-party payers and pre-authorization requirements necessary. Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures required.
