General Summary

 

The primary responsibility of the position is to be responsible for the collection of our investment and maintain a high quality of accounts receivable while minimizing or avoiding any accounts from becoming a bad debt. It is the individual’s responsibility to ensure payments are made within terms in order to provide a cash flow that allows the company the reserves to reduce any debt and pursue potential investments in new areas.

 

Principal Duties and ResponsibilitiesCollection of monies from all accounts deemed past due up to and exceeding the 90 - day level. Levels for certain customers will be at the discretion of the Credit Manager. This includes contact with the Customers’ Accounting, Nursing and Staffing Departments in order to ascertain the payment problems and daily interaction with CCTC Payroll, Sales and Billing Departments to help resolve them.The handling of numerous phone calls from our customers on all A/R and Billing questions and responding in a timely fashion with the answers to these questions. This will include research and resolution of these issues and preparation of credit and debit memos for input by BillingThis individual will act as support for the running of our direct transmission file from Wachovia Bank for receipt of our daily cash and be responsible for processing that cash that can not be directly posted by the bank as it relates to their accounts.To become familiar and ultimately assist with the preparation of those A/R reports associated with the month end close, to include cash and aging reports.To handle the customer maintenance of their accounts as it relates to all input and update to the A/R systemTo be involved with the generation, review and sending of monthly customer statements.Develop a sound working knowledge of Contracts, primarily in those areas that have considerable A/R impact.Assist in generating customer finance charge statements.The management of their own territory of accounts. This portfolio should meet or exceed Days Sales Outstanding and percentage of aged past due amounts as established by Senior Management.  Other duties as assigned, with or without accommodation.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities RequiredTwo - Four Year College Education preferred in Accounting,Finance or Business2-4 years in credit, collections, accounts receivable with strong knowledge of same and excellent follow up abilityStrong analytical sense with and excellent attention to detailExcellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to maintain an even temper and personality combined with excellent customer service skillsKnowledge of Excel or PeopleSoft preferableHandle several conflicting priorities, must be flexible and willing to assist and fill in as neededCommunicate and work in a respectful, supportive manner with all teammates
