Credentials Coordinator
Job Description: This credentialing position is designated for "Special Recruitment", which means the applicant must be an experienced Hospital credentialer (4+ years) whose responsibility it will be to accommodate the credentialing needs of the specially recruited physicians providing them with personal and expedited credentialing assistance. This person must have knowledge of the Cactus database system. The applicant for this position is responsible for confidentiality, accuracy and integrity of the credentialing and clinical privileging system and files and will maintain a working knowledge of the Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations and other hospital policies. The applicant will also be working closely with the Director of Physician Access Services as well as the Director of Medical Staff Services. The position entails all the generally required credentialing activities but to a specific group and who must have superior competency in this area. Job Qualifications: College degree preferred - will substitute experience in field (4+ years) Experience: superior knowledge of Hospital Credentialing; NYS Regulations and JC Standards Systems: Microsoft Office Systems (Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint); Internet; Credentialing Databases (Cactus Database preferred) Skills: superior communication skills (written and verbal); ability to prioritize and multitask; work independently in a team environment; exercise initiative; respond in a teimly manner to multiple requests and meet strict guidelines; and able to handle high volume while maintaining accuracy
