Corporate Director, Information Systems Support Services
Relevant Work Experience:: 10+ to 15 Years Education Level: Bachelor's Degree Description: Provides general direction to IS Support Services team to achieve quality, timely and effective services. Establishes operating goals with site senior management and meets goals and plans. Provides detailed monthly service reports. Works with executive committees, senior management, physician management and Partners management to develop and evaluate plans and programs that are in alignment with Partners strategic business objectives. Provides innovative and proactive management, including the attraction, retention and development of high quality staff. Provides financial oversight of IS Support Services including the development of, and direction of financial objectives, budgets and expenditures. Collaborates on the management on desktop technology and networked systems with Technical Strategy team. Works in concert with the Directors of Technical Planning, Systems Development and Technical Services and Operations. Maintains expertise in related technologies and techniques; implement new ideas and approaches to achieve leadership in the field. Develops programs to identify revenue opportunities for Information Systems. Works closely with vendors to achieve optimal pricing for products and services. Identifies and establishes corporate initiatives and related strategies to advance technology in the defined information systems operations. Identifies, develops and oversees infrastructures and supporting information systems, and related implementations. Oversees staff in projects to upgrade systems and technical infrastructure. Supports overall IS initiatives and coordinates with other IS functions to meet operational needs. Interfaces with and helps manage key vendor relationships in the Information System arena. Leads efforts to identify new ways to deliver improved services and cost savings. Leads efforts to identify new revenue opportunities for Partners Health Care and lower the overall Total Cost of Ownership of Partners distributed infrastructure (in conjunction with other IS leaders).Qualifications: 10-15 years relevant experience in managing IT customer support including functions such as Help Desk, Desktop Support, Accounts Administration, Email Administration, Configuration Management, Asset Management, Procurement, Problem Management and/or related areas in comparably large and complex environment(s), preferably within healthcare. Minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Business Management, or equivalent subjects. Master desired, but not required if experience is commensurate with Masters level degree Demonstrated technical proficiency in IT customer service as well as applicable hardware, software, networking and systems software. Proven skill and experience in large project management, contracting, general management, strategic planning, program development and negotiations; skill in analysis, organization and presentations. Ability to carry out position with a high degree of customer service, communication, teamwork and timeliness Skill in working with executive management; ability to communicate technical concepts and drivers to a non-technical audience. Skill in defusing potentially explosive situations. Demonstrated skill in managing professionally large operating and capital budgets. Demonstrated success in managing large teams.
