JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of contracts consistent with Nationwide Better Health policies and sales standards. Accountable for auditing and evaluating contract metrics; ensuring they are meeting contractual requirements. Participates in the design, implementation, and communication of programs and practices related to contract administration. Ensures that sales departments are in compliance with NBH sales policies and procedures related to contract administration. Collaborates with business leaders, sales teams, project leaders, etc. RELATIONSHIP: Reports to Director/Executive JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Initiates preparation, processing, and execution of new and/or renewal customer service and other commercial contracts. Communicates requirements to field sales; ensures that contract terms are consistent with NBH policies and sales standards. 2. Assists with proposal preparation and contractual assessments in support of account planning. Facilitates and/or participates in contract negotiations. Partners with operations, sales, legal and finance to draft and review agreements, addendums, and amendments to contracts. 3. Maintains contract templates and participates in periodic review; updates documents consistent with changes in products and services. Maintains contract database; tracks contracts, renewal dates, termination provisions, and other terms as required by the business. 4. Consults with various business units to resolve variances from standard contract and to ensure alignment with project and company objectives. Accountable for leading and coordinating the clearance and signoff process internally and with clients for customer service and other commercial contracts. 5. Identifies and advises senior management team of trends, financial risks, and commercial risks related to contractual requirements. 6. Reviews contacts for potential business implications; investigates complaints or concerns from clients and/or members regarding service issues. 7. Assists in the development, implementation, and modification of internal compliance measures and initiatives regarding sales programs related to contract administration. Maintains and coordinates review of corporate sales policies and procedures related to contract administration. 8. Maintains a working knowledge of absence management and healthcare regulatory rules, regulations, and industry-specific issues, as well as current compliance and/or quality technologies, tools, and techniques. May be required to attend conferences and/or training programs. 9. Serves as a resource regarding Nationwide Better Health?s contracting and compliance program. 10. Performs other duties as assigned. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Education: Undergraduate degree in finance, accounting, economics or related field preferred. Experience: Typically seven years experience in contract administration and application of contract law concepts. Experience in contract negotiations, pricing, and revenue recognition. Knowledge: Proven knowledge in contract management processes and contract law concepts. Knowledge of absence management, health care and health services industry. Knowledge of service elements and pricing preparation. Knowledge of absence management and healthcare operations and regulations. Skills/Competencies: Command of all skills necessary for verbal and written communications. Proven negotiation, problem solving, and decision making skills. Strong analytical skills to analyze and comprehend complex regulations. Proven ability to set work priorities that conform with established objectives, timeframes and accomplish a task in the most effective manner. Ability to collaboratively with cross-functional teams (i.e. sales, legal, finance, systems, business leaders, etc.). Proven ability to manage projects and define administrative methods and procedures to attain objectives. Ability to use personal computer and related medical management and business software.
