Computer Operator

Contract position through April 2009 with large teaching hospital.  The department is located in Downtown Portland.  There are three different shifts that you may be asked to work.  Standard shift will be from 11:00am-9:30 pm on  Friday, Saturday, Sunday & Monday.  At times will need to be available to cover vacations and come in if there are any emergency situations.  Will not be constant but need to show flexibility.  First training schedule will be: 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Fri, Sat, Sun, Mon, Tue.  Second training schedule will be 7:00am- 3:30pmREQUIRED: MVS (multiple virtual storage) Console Operator experience (at least one year).  Need to be able to respond to commands. If have worked with IBM mainframes then will have MVS.  IBM mainframe environment is usually w/large organizations and with low level tech support.  The console is the main computer everything goes through. TSO experience JCL -(job control language) understanding MS Windows Multi-line phone experience Help Desk experience --this is a secondary duty.  Need to be able to answer multiple calls.  Know how to prioritize issues-when to send to auto attendant, etc.  Help desk duties will primarily be when working after hours and on weekends.
