Compliance Analyst
Tuesday-Saturday 10pm-6:30am Shift: 3 General Responsibilities: This position is accountable for performance of critical legal compliance functions. Legal compliance encompasses all policies, standards and procedures adopted by MoneyGram to ensure compliance with federal and state laws governing funds transmission including criminal money laundering statutes, the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), forfeiture statutes and related laws and regulations. This position is responsible for the conduct of daily compliance activities necessary to meet technical BSA requirements. This position is also accountable for the day-to-day conduct of anti-money laundering procedures, including Know Your Customer issues relative to MoneyGram customers, monitoring customer and agent MoneyGram activity and other risk avoidance measures. These risks include criminal penalties to the incumbent and to the Company and its officers and directors up to $500,000 or twice the amount of the funds laundered, whichever is greater and/or imprisonment up to 20 years for each violation; civil fines up to the greater of $25,000 or the amount of the transaction for each violation; civil and criminal forfeiture of Company assents; and the loss of funds transmission and sale of checks licensing. In depth knowledge (3-5 years exp.) of the Bank Secrecy Act, money laundering laws, and the IRS' cash reporting requirements - gained in past financial services or banking environments. (Required) Understanding of fraud scenarios as related to wire transfer (lottery, inheritance, internet). Minimum 3-5 years experience with MoneyGram operations and policies. (Required) Highly developed verbal communication skills. (Required) Excellent interpersonal, telephone and customer service skills. Ability to effectively interact with customers and employees from various cultures and backgrounds. (Required) Excellent decision-making, problem-solving and analytical skills. (Required) Research and investigative skills. (Required) Personal Computer proficiency. (Required) Excellent organization, time management and prioritization skills. (Required) Associates Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics or business/legal related field desirable or equivalent work experience.
