Compensation Analyst, Senior
Sutter Health Support Services (SHSS) is the Support Center for the Sutter Health affiliates, which houses all non-medical support departments that are not provided at the affiliates. It provides expertise and guidance to support affiliate functional departments.The Compensation department has an opening for a Senior Compensation Analyst. The Senior Compensation Analyst provides analytical, technical and other professional level support and wage and hour law interpretation for identified customers. This includes preparation and delivery of compensation-related information to senior audiences, job documentation, job evaluation, salary administration and special studies. Education: A bachelor's degree in Business Administration or an equivalent combination of education and direct work experience is required. CCP preferred. Experience: Must have experience demonstrating the ability to develop, implement and administer compensation programs typically gained from 5-10 years compensation experience. Healthcare system experience is helpful, particularly in a highly matrixed environment. Must have demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse group of management and staff to achieve desired outcome results as well as to manage large projects and initiate/ implement/ administer diverse compensation programs. Experience developing and conducting training is strongly preferred. Experience with on-line performance review processes is helpful, as is experience with HRIS applications - preferably Lawson. Knowledge: Must have a solid working knowledge of State and Federal wage and hour law, concepts of HRIS and job evaluation methodologies, preferably Hay. Knowledge of current trends/issues in the healthcare industry and related implications for compensation systems is strongly desired. Must have a working knowledge of incentive plan administration. Special Skills/Equipment: Must have well developed skills in written, verbal, interpersonal and presentation/public speaking communication skills. Must have excellent problem identification, analysis and resolution skills. Must have strong spreadsheet, word processing, and data base computer skills. Requires leadership skills and the ability to effectively delegate projects/ assignments to others. Must have the ability to communicate complex compensation issues to HR and senior affiliate management/staff. Must have facilitation, conflict resolution and consulting skills. Must have strong persuasion skills and the ability to influence without direct reporting relationships to positive effect. Must have the ability to function independently, with minimal guidance/ direction. Requires well-developed teamwork skills, including coaching/ mentoring.
