Clinical Nurse for OR
Children's Medical Center Dallas is the only Dallas healthcare facility that deals exclusively with a variety of diseases and disorders among children from birth to age 18 and offers more than 50 specialty programs. Children’s is the first pediatric hospital in the nation to receive multiple disease-specific certifications from The Joint Commission. The Asthma Management, Diabetes, and Dean Foods LEAN (Lifestyle Exercise And Nutrition) Families programs are certified. A private, not-for-profit hospital, Children’s is licensed for 411 beds and is the primary pediatric teaching facility for the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas. Children's Medical Center of Dallas receives more than 360,000 patient visits each year.
Children's is seeking a Clinical Nurse (RN) in our Operating Room. The OR handles 13,500 cases per year in 24 of the largest, most technologically advanced operating rooms available in pediatrics today. These range from fractures, bone infections, congenital and acute hip disorders, hand and lower arm problems, sports medicine injuries, dental, cardiac anomalies, ENT, general surgery, GI, Urology, plastics/reconstructive, and neurosurgery. Children’s Dallas also is a major center for pediatric kidney, liver, heart, bowel and bone marrow transplants. The acuity ranges from day surgery cases to high acuity inpatient cases.
Current openings include OR RN positions and OR-Circulator/Board Runner.
The shifts vary from 8, 10, and 12 hour shifts with: call, weekends, holiday’s, on days or nights. Differentials apply to all positions.
The clinical nurse will perform the functions of a registered nurse in direct patient care of complex patients and is proficient in the application of the nursing process. The nurse promotes collaboration within the health care team for the provision of developmentally appropriate care to patients and families.
Requirements:
Current RN TX license
Bachelor's degree preferred
Minimum of two years RN experience in the ORCurrent CPR for Healthcare Providers certification
