Clinical Nurse Specialist - Acute Care

Job Summary: This individual will work as an advance practice nurse, serving as clinical mentor and nursing specialist in support of nursing staff best practice.  Will act as teacher/practitioner by role modeling, mentoring, coaching, and educating all levels of nursing staff.

Education: Registered Nurse with current Wisconsin RN license, Master's degree in Nursing, and Clinical Nurse Specialist certification required.

Experience: Minimum of five years nursing experience in medical/surgical nursing required.  Demonstrates excellent hands-on practice behaviors for a wide range of medical/surgical patients.

Other: Must have the ability to speak and write effectively.  Must have the ability to coordinate and present programs, and demonstrate evidence of leading and facilitating groups.  Must be able to direct patient care and communicate accurately through verbal and written clinical documentation.  Demonstrates a progressive approach with ability to envision the future needs of nursing practice.  Critical thinking skills required - the ability to conceptualize, analyze, and identify both short- and long-term goals.  Must be adaptable to a changing environment.  Basic computer skills required, advanced skills preferred.
