For nursing graduates, we provide distinct career tracts for several areas of our hospital. We offer new graduate positions in our Emergency, GI/Metabolic, Hematology/Oncology/Bone Marrow Transplant, Med Surg/PEMU/Rehab, Monitoring/Airway, Neonatal Iintensive Care, Pediatric Intensive Care, Perioperative Services, and Pulmonary Departments. *The Emergency Department has the responsibility for taking care of 130-250 patients daily. This year we will become a Level 1 Pediatric Trauma facility, one of the 16 in the United States.*Our Pediatric Oncology, Hematology, Nephrology, Bone Marrow and Kidney transplant Unit is a fast paced environment. We invest in education and training to mentor and and suppoet the Nursing Professional Advancement Bedside Nursing Inquiry and Research. *Med Surg/PEMU/Rehab - is a progressive orthopedic, rehabilitation unit, which also provides neurological care that includes epilepsy monitoring. This year we will also provide care to Trauma inpatients that do not meet the PICU admission criteria. *Neonatal Intenisve Care Unit (Level Three) - is a state-of-the art facility and is one of the two largest level three units in the country with 143 licensed beds. * The Pedicatric Intensive Care unit is the 2nd largest in the Country and growning! The PICU provides care for complex diagnosis including cardiac surgery with 3 CV surgeons on board. The PICU utilizes state of the art technology - ECMO, CRRT, Cerebral blood flow monitoring. * The Pulomary Department is an 18 bed unit that consists of pulomary and infectius disease patient such as Asmtha, Cystic Fibrosis, and RSV. In each are you will be provided with 14 weeks of training that includes: 120 hours of classroom training 396 hours of guided clinical experience A mentor program Self-care support groups "Looping" to other units of the hospital Classroom sessions are designed to enhance clinical knowledge while emphasizing critical thinking and the nursing care process at PCH. The mentor program matches each student to a mentor who is a senior staff member. Each student participates in facilitated debriefing and self-care sessions providing them the opportunity to express strong feelings and emotions about their experiences as a new graduate RN. Looping take place between departments so that students understand what happens to patients along the care continuum during hospitalization. Our goal at Phoenix Children's Hospital is to provide consistency and support as you transition into the role of a pediatric staff nurse. Qualifications 1. Recent graduation from an accredited nursing program.2. Two letters of recommendation from Clinical Instructors.3. School Transcripts 3.0 GPA at a minimum. 4. Successful completion of NCLEX examination prior to the start of the program. 5. Must have or be able to obtain BLS certification from the American Heart Association within 30 days of hire. Activities for this position are performed on a climactically controlled nursing unit subject to frequent long periods of standing and walking; frequent physical demands including, but not limited to: stooping, bending, reaching, pulling, climbing, lifting and pushing objects of varying weights up to and including 150 pounds. Activities performed require ability to regularly assist patients to and from various types of equipment. Regularly works in an environment subject to high stress levels, exposure to fumes, chemicals, noise and blood born pathogens; frequently changing priorities.
