We have an immediate opening for a Clinical Dietitian at Kern Medical Center in Bakersfield, CA. As the Clinical Dietitian for ARAMARK Healthcare, you wil provide overall nutrition care to patients. You will assure that the nutritional needs of the individual patients are being met and that all documentation as it relates to the patients nutritional status is complete and accurate. Kern Medical Center is a 222 bed acute care teaching hospital. The Medical Center serves a community of approximately 650,000, and the hospital is owned and operated by the County of Kern. The health of the citizens of Kern County is a priority to Kern Medical Center, and it is the only hospital dedicated to physician resident training. As an academic teaching hospital, Kern Medical Center trains more than 90 residents per year in the fields of Emergency Medicine, Family Practice, General Surgery, Internal Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Psychiatry, and a Transitional Year Program ranging in duration from one to five years. We are affiliated with UCLA, UCSD, and UCI Schools of Medicine, giving nearly 1,000 visiting doctors, researchers and other professionals and opportunity to assist our 65 full-time faculty physicians and take an active role in the teaching process. Kern Medical Center provides care for over 16,000 inpatients annually, while the clinics provide care and services for over 100,000 patients. This position requires current registration as an RD American Dietetic Association's Commission on Dietetic Registration and California State license to practice Dietetics. The ability to communicate (both verbal and written) effectively with clients, customers of client and support staff is required. The ability to write letters, summaries and reports, using prescribed format and conform to all rules of punctuation, grammar, diction and style is required. The ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistics and the ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations is required. Requires management and leadership skills and the ability to work with confidential employee, client and ARAMARK information.
