Clinical Experience and Epic Certification Required)Sr. Application Specialist, Ambulatory (GE Centricity, Epic. RN required)Application Specialist, OR services (Periop applications: Surginet, Epic Optime or SIS)

 General Summary (Application Specialist/Coordinator):

This position is responsible for implementation and/or support of assigned healthcare information systems in EIS.  Responsibilities include seeing that implementation milestones and defined workplan tasks are executed on time, serving as the primary point of contact for the clinical/business areas who are the main users of the information system. As well as evaluation and analysis of data, design/build, implementation, maintenance, troubleshooting and resolution of systems. The Application Coordinator should maintain a good level of expertise with appropriate system documentation tools and be able to develop detailed implementation and upgrade project plans in conjunction with other team associates. The candidate must understand departmental needs and the scope of each project to ensure ability to identify risks and make appropriate recommendations.  This role requires excellent presentation, communication, and conflict management skills.

 

Specific responsibilities include:

· Participate in system design, build, testing, training and go-live activities.

· Act as the primary point of contact and application advisor to the main users of the system.

· Display strong project management skills.

· Demonstrate expertise with integration of automation into the pharmacy and medication management processes.

· Review milestone and work plan task status and provide status report updates.

· Assist with mitigation of problems that are filed for assigned applications. 

· Demonstrate ability to identify risks and communicate possible resolutions to the project team and sponsors.

· Modify, develop and maintain end-user training materials/guides.

· Coordinate, schedule and provide implementations internal training/knowledge transfer sessions.

· Act  as  mentor  to  new  application specialists  for  implementation  process  and  department  standards.

· Display professional, team-oriented attitude to co-workers and end users.

· Able to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines

· Assist in developing system training plans and execute the defined plans

 

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS/COMPETENCIES:  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Business or other related field; or approved equivalent combination of training and experience

 Epic Certification required for Epic positions

 

· Technical project management skills (ability to lead meetings, prioritize, resolve conflicts, maintain issues list, manage project plan).
