Clinical Appeals Representative - Albany, NY

The result is better care and a reduction in overall health care costs.   Ensure the accurate and timely receipt, sorting, accountability and delivery/dispatch of all categories of mail and faxes; maintain filing systems needed to meet compliance requirements.   Primary Responsibilities: Final preparation and mailing of all appeal and adverse determination letters Copying as needed Faxing letters to facilities Stuffing envelopes UPS overnight mailings as needed Operation of all mail room equipment including central photocopy equipment Filing appeal documents, organizing and maintaining file systems as needed. Copying records as needed for panels, and external review organizations. Assisting Appeal Coordinators by taking daily calls from customers and forwarding messages as needed Maintaining the file areas in Compliance, ensuring that all appeals files are readily available and that ongoing filing systems are maintained in an organized manner Assisting Appeal Coordinators in documentation required to track and monitor adverse determinations and appeals Qualifications:Must possess a high school diploma 1 year + of customer service experience required Six months to one year experience in a healthcare setting preferred Must have good problem resolution skills and be organized.
