Nevada Rural Hospital Partners (NRHP) has created a new senior level position (COO).  The position will entail responsibility for: 1) portions of the day to day administration/operation of NRHP; 2) supporting various current programs and developing new ones; 3) coordinating member hospital peer groups associated with various programs; 4) grant writing and program coordination; 5) contracts; and 6) value reporting.  Although succession to the Presidency of NRHP is not guaranteed, the position has been created with that in mind.  Therefore, the successful applicant will have many opportunities to expand his/her knowledge and leadership skills.  In addition to the areas listed above, duties will expand over time to include political advocacy, strategic planning, budgeting, monitoring financial performance, insurance program management, and Board of Directors/member relations.  Some travel will be required. 

 

NRHP is seeking an individual with rare initiative, foresight, energy, and knowledge.  The person we hire should be capable of planning for and generating timely results, and must have a demonstrated ability to maintain productive relationships.  NRHP recognizes that the combination of knowledge listed below is somewhat unusual and will consider applicants that have some of the knowledge and experience listed, and are willing to develop the balance. 

 

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree required (healthcare or related), Master’s preferred (business or healthcare)

·        Rural hospital management/issues

·        Insurance management

·        Program development

·        Political advocacy

·        Network or association management

·        Grant writing and grant management

·        Clinical background

·        Excellent writing skills

·        Basic financial understanding – budgets, financial statements

·        Computer proficiency – Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, basic Excel
