Chief Nursing Officer
Thomasville Medical Center is a 149 bed community hospital with the latest in diagnostic and treatment services. We provide more than 480 employees, 132 medical staff and 65 volunteers to meet the health care needs of our community one person at a time. Our philosophy of care radiates from our hospital, physician practices, urgent care center and programs throughout the community.
This position provides leadership in developing and implementing TMC’s plan for providing patient care consistent with the health system’s mission, goals, values and strategic plan.Designs and shapes the preferred future of the TMC Nursing division within a responsible economic, demographic, and organizational framework.Directs all Nursing/Clinical functions for TMC. Participates with leaders from the Governing Body, Senior Leadership, Medical Staff and clinical areas in TMC’s decision-making structures and processes.Plan, promote and conduct organization-wide performance assessment and improvement activities. Demonstrate skillful leadership, coaching and mentoring of direct reports, timely and appropriate conflict resolution, effective and timely communications, and timely decision making.Services as a positive role model as evidenced by professional demeanor, skillful written and oral communications, reinforcement of strong customer service to staff, and ethical judgment in problem solving.Actively participates in activities outside the facility which promote/provide community benefit
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years experience as a Director in a similar facility with multiple unit responsibilities.
Currently licensed as Registered Nurse in North Carolina. RN, BSN, and Master of Nursing or other field (healthcare) required.
Must have experience and current working knowledge of personnel management, program design and development, strong financial acumen in healthcare, and superior leadership skills. Should be able to assume responsibility for the clinical staff/services to address requirements as defined by JCAHO and to identify and address opportunities to improve organizational improvement.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT; Sedentary Work - lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or otherwise moving objects, including the human body, weighing up to 10 pounds occasionally (Occasionally: activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time) and/or a negligible amount of weight frequently (Frequently: activity or condition exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time). Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
