Certified Nursing Assistant-Various Shifts Available

Job Shift: First Shift (Day), Second Shift (Afternoon), Third Shift (Night) DEPARTMENT: Various SCHEDULE: Various EDUCATION: High school graduate or equivalent. CERTIFICATION/LICENSE: Current California State NA certification required. Current BLS certification required. POSITION SUMMARY: Implements patient care activities under the direction of the registered nurse. QUALIFICATIONS: Six months' acute setting within the last two years required. Must have effective oral and written communication skills with coworkers, other health care team members, and patients. DUTIES: Obtains, records, and reports vital signs on patients as directed. Documents data collected per standards. Collects and reports data to RN for development of plans for meeting patient/family needs. Implements and documents safe, therapeutic, and efficient care as directed by RN. Supports appropriate priorities for patient care. Anticipates need for emotional support. Supports the psychological, social, spiritual, and cultural needs of the patient and family. Takes preventative measures in giving patient care: Protects skin and mucous membranes. Protects patients from falls or other contact injuries. Uses positioning and/or exercise to prevent injury or the complications of immobility. Removes/reports environmental hazards in the patient care area. Implements interventions appropriate to specific age groups and developmental status of patients. Encourages patient/family to participate in treatments as directed. Provides transport to and from nursing units. Observes, records, and reports patient/family response to nursing care. Maintains call light within patient's reach and uses designated communication mechanism for patients with impaired hearing, speaking skills, or language barriers.
